Lac Sainte Croix in different moods
The Lac Sainte Croix is a ...
Sue and Chris: Spent a great 5 nights in this property in Sept 16. Beautifully appointed, comfy bed, pillows and linens. Fab shower. Kitchen had everything needed and a store cupboard with the basics means catering for yourself is easy. A supermarket just over the road means fresh bread and pastries for breakfast can be quickly acquired. The complimentary wine was greatly appreciated and Colin and Sandra the hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They made some good suggestions on what to do in the local area - Tourtour hilltop village, the Verdon Gorge to name just a couple. Plenty of places to eat in the village which is just 10 - 15 mins stroll away. The accommodation shares a decent sized pool with the other two small properties on this site (all owned by the same people) so its quite private. The complex is secured behind electric gates and there is plenty of parking, Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to friends
Mike and Jan Jones: We had a very enjoyable fortnight in the Truffle Gite which more than met our expectations with regard to the equipment and furnishings provided - there was nothing that we found missing. We took full advantage of Sandra's home-made dishes (four in total), and with eating out at some of the excellent restaurants nearby we hardly did any cooking other than the odd boiled egg for breakfast. We particularly liked La Petite Auberge at Tourtour where we went twice for a lovely dinner with fabulous views.
Once behind the gates we did a lot of lazing by the pool (which luckily we mostly had to ourselves) and each day kept an eye on the 3 thermometers as the temperature rose little by little. We hardly noticed the supermarket across the road apart from the occasional use of the automatic car wash, and it was really handy to nip across for provisions, wine, ice cream etc. Much to Colin's amusement we actually drove across on the first day, but we did buy quite a lot of bottles!
The town of Aups is sweet with plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops. The Wednesday market was brilliant and there was also a flea market on our middle Sunday.
Colin and Sandra were the perfect hosts - always there when wanted for help and advice.
Mark & Karen Tomlinson: The property was fitted out to a very high standard with good quality fittings and well thought out décor. It was a lovely place to stay. All the odds and ends you would need on holiday are there. Sandra and Colin were very helpful and accommodating. The 3 properties shared the pool which was well provided with sun loungers and parasols etc.
The town of Aups was within reasonable walking distance. The town was very attractive with shops bars and restaurants. There was also a number of markets held during the week.
There was a supermarket across the road from the property, but this did not cause any disturbance and proved very useful.
All in all a great holiday
Lynne & Phil: Colin & Sandra's gites are extremely well equipped, with touches of home, and ideally located to explore the best of what Provence has to offer.
We were looking for a combination of relaxation, comfort and privacy, and we found all three!
Adrian and Barbara: We had a very relaxing here .
Very well equipped accommodation
Great location for exploring this part of France
The supermarket across the road was a bonus, once inside the grounds of the house you would not know it was there.
Colin and Sandra were the perfect owners ie around when needed and very willing to give advice and sort things out, but not intrusive
We would highly recommend this accomodation
