Mark & Karen Tomlinson: The property was fitted out to a very high standard with good quality fittings and well thought out décor. It was a lovely place to stay. All the odds and ends you would need on holiday are there. Sandra and Colin were very helpful and accommodating. The 3 properties shared the pool which was well provided with sun loungers and parasols etc.
The town of Aups was within reasonable walking distance. The town was very attractive with shops bars and restaurants. There was also a number of markets held during the week.
There was a supermarket across the road from the property, but this did not cause any disturbance and proved very useful.
All in all a great holiday
Lynne & Phil: Colin & Sandra's gites are extremely well equipped, with touches of home, and ideally located to explore the best of what Provence has to offer.
We were looking for a combination of relaxation, comfort and privacy, and we found all three!
Adrian and Barbara: We had a very relaxing here .
Very well equipped accommodation
Great location for exploring this part of France
The supermarket across the road was a bonus, once inside the grounds of the house you would not know it was there.
Colin and Sandra were the perfect owners ie around when needed and very willing to give advice and sort things out, but not intrusive
We would highly recommend this accomodation
Graeme Alderson: I have stayed in dozens of gites in France and this one is the only one that had a properly equipped kitchen that wasn't made up from the owner's discards. Marvelous.
Add to this the fact that essentials such as oil, toilet roll, condiments, tea (yes we are Brits so tea is an essential) and even a nice chilled bottle of rose, are all there waiting for you is great. And not common!
All of these things made it feel more like a hotel than a gite. Well done Colin and Sandra.
Peter and Janey Lewis-Smith: We have returned to Provence every year now for six years to a different venue each time but Sandra and Colin are the best hosts we have had. We were slightly worried about the proximity to the Supermarche across the road but the noise was minimal and ease of access to fresh bread and croissants in the morning more than compensated. The accommodation, pool and garden were all first class and we particularly enjoyed being so close to Aups to allow us to stroll in to the markets and restaurants. Var Provence is a particularly beautiful and relaxed area and the locals so friendly and food so good that we would recommend Le Diamant Noir very highly. We also strongly recommend the "in house" generous wine tasting evening with superb canapes. We didn't try the BBQ evening but it sounded equally appealing. Well done Sandra and Colin and good luck with all the family.
